We have officially entered the bleak midwinter! Desperate to slough off my funk this week, I made a concerted effort to be playful when it came to getting dressed and interacting with my clothes. Here are a few sartorial joys from this week:
Dyeing a pink dress yellow :))) using RIT dye. Did you know you can find the recipes to create any color you desire on the RIT website? I’m in love with this rich sunshine dress now and I can’t wait to wear it! Cabin fever is in full swing here haha
Feeling fucking cute and whimsical in my new ruffled flower alien baby hood from Grace :) It’s so warm and I feel SO HAPPY when I wear it! Happy, soft armour.
I made this vest on friday and when I walked downstairs the window was casting the perfect light for this lil photoshoot! I bought this fleece at JoAnn’s this fall, unsure of what I would do it with it, but knowing I HAD to have it in my life. The pin is from my friend Nicole and it says ‘cry baby’ :’) (my moon is in cancer, so this tracks) It’s WARM, it’s WHIMSICAL!
It’s dangerously cold right now out so if you have extra warm gear (especially gloves, mittens, new socks) and you live in the greater Portland, Maine area, consider donating them to Maine Needs this week. They will distribute them to folks who need them! You can also buy things off of their weekly online wishlist.
Thanks for sharing your book recs and what is giving you comfort this winter in response to my last newsletter :) How do you embrace whimsy and joy in the long dark season?
Still awed by your RIT skills!!!
